- Scherl & Roth bought F.A. Reynolds in 1946.
- The Emperor and Contempora brands were introduced by F.A. Reynolds in 1947 and 1949. First known Emperor model: SN 24577. First known Contempora model: 232xx, 25594.
- Professional "Hi-Fi" cornet introduced 1957/58: 46xxx lowest serial number recorded.
- Argenta brand introduced 1959; 545xx lowest serial number recorded.
- Most instruments between SN 60xxx-79xxx bear the RMC shield, because during 1961-1963 Richards Music owned Reynolds. Instruments were only produced for part of 1963
- Medalist brand instruments were originally manufactured in Elkhart, Indiana for RMC/Reynolds by Blessing.
- SN 96897 first recorded Medalist instrument, lastSN 136499.
- Serial numbers for Reynolds instruments were reset at 200000 after the moves to Abilene and Fullerton in 1964
- 1972, all instruments are produced in Fullerton and are marked with "Made in USA"
- Olds and Reynolds merged production serial numbers in October 1977, beginning the "A" sequence
