  • 1900 Otto Burt Heaton (1885-1960) starts working at the
    Puntenney & Eutsler Music store, Columbus


  • 1909 P&E advertises they manufacture the Triumph band
    instruments and the Triumph model trombone; Heaton
    later claims he was the designer


  • 1910 census lists him as a sales manager for music store


  • 1911 Heaton buys out the P&E store in August; #231 N. High St.


  • 1913 Otto B. Heaton Co., Otto & brother Wert Heaton, pianos,
    music and manufacturers of the ‘Triumph’ band
    instruments at their factory, office & sales at #231 N. High;
    James Puntenney & son James Jr are now with the Moore
    & Johnson Co., pianos, #172 S. High St.


  • 1915 Heaton’s Music Store, #231 N. High, makers of Triumph
    band instruments


  • 1917 move to #168 N. High St.


  • 1918 passport application lists him as piano dealer


  • 1920 census lists him as music dealer


  • 1926 move to #33 E. Long St. (photo 2)


  • 1931 move to #78 N. High St., 4 story building, selling Conn
    band instruments (no mention of Triumph)


  • 1945 move to #50 N. High St.


  • 1959 store is closed in September
