William C. Broadwell was born in 1851 in New York and was working as a music store clerk in Detroit by 1880. He started Broadwell & Wolf, as a wholesale musical supply business with William Wolf at 141 Woodward Ave. In 1902 it was located at 220 Woodward Ave. Broadwell is listed as a salesman for a music company in 1920. Instruments probably date to c.1900.
