The business was founded by Wenzel Schamal in 1842. In 1879, his son Karl took over the business. Karl had also worked for Sax and Moritz.
In 1892, his brother Batri Samalove - i.e. Gebruder Schamal - joined in partnership as Schamal brothers. In 1928, the firm was sold to KJ Dvorak, and it was nationalized in 1945.
