  • 1913 from The Violinist , Feb 1913; ‘Ralph Kenny has just
    opened his new store across from Symphony Hall. He is
    one of the members of the Symphony Orchestra and is
    ready to supply his confreres with the necessities of the
    profession.’

  • 1914 Incorporates on Feb 16th as Ralph E. Kenny & Co.

  • 1918 ends music company

  • 1919 ends with the MSO

  • 1920 orchestra musician in Chicago (not the CSO)

  • 1930 music salesman in Seattle

  • 1935 now in Los Angeles

  • 1940 wholesale musical instrument salesman in LA

  • 1942 Kenny dies on November 8th, age 69


Some instruments have ‘patent July 1910, Union Label’ which
may refer to the actual maker since Kenny did not have
any patents. It is likely that the maker in question was Blessing.



Any instruments with just his name date to the 1907-1913 period.
Those with ‘& Co.’ date to the 1914-1918 period.
