1926-

Pierre Jean Baptiste Steenhuysen (1872 - 1936) started his career as an apprentice at Mahillon. He moved on and started his own workshop in 1926 at rue du Transvaal 43 in Bruxelles, specializing in the manufacture of brass instruments.

His son, Pierre Jean (1900 - 1985) started as an apprentice in his father’s workshop and upon his father passing in 1936, he assumed control of workshop in 1936

Son, Pierre II Steenhuysen (1930) and cousin Roger Steenhuysen (1935) trained at their Father’s workshop and become associates in 1969.

In 1970, they bought the Mahillon firm that since 1937 had been under the contorl of Jean Smits. They changed the name to "etablissements Mahillon" and eight years later to "Musical Mahillon Steenhuysen".

Since 1985, Steenhuysen has been principally concerned with the restoration and maintenance of brass instruments. Besides some instruments of their own brand, they sell the instruments of foreign brands such as Getzen, Schilke and Yamaha. The workshop has been located at rue de Transvaal 43 in Bruxelles since 1985.
