| Reproduction Baroque Tromba di Tirarsiin D, after Hans Veit, Naumberg, circa 1690 by Dr Lowell Greer.
The slide fits inside the first yard of the trumpet, and allows a drop in pitch of two whole steps, completing the trumpet range chromatically. The only deviations from the original model, are the positioning of the crook between the first two yards (the original had the crook set between the mouthpiece and the body of the horn), and a tapered leadpipe which brings the low overtones, flat on the original, into usefull tuning. The trumpet is built at A440, but can be played at A430 or A415 using transposing positions, or a low pitch leadpipe. The slide is grasped (by the ears) at the mouthpipe, and the rest of the trumpet is moved on the slide.

"The bell is engraved with Kruspe’s modern logo (an eagle with a French horn in its beak…), no DRGM number (which means it’s almost certainly post WW II) and serial number 4363 stamped on the rail that holds the valve levers."
E. Kruspe Erfurt
