Kitchen & Co 29 Queen Victoria St Leeds Kevin: Robert Snowdon Kitchen, proprietor of Kitchen & C0, Leeds. Operated in Leeds from 1894-1955. According to preliminary research by John Townsend Joint Librarian, Thoresby Society, Leeds, Kitchen opened his business sometime during the mid 1890s at a stall, 163 Kirkgate Market. (Robinsons, Kellys� Directories) He moved regularly to progressivly more prestigious establishments and settled finally at 29 Queen Victoria St. This is central to what are known as the Empire buildings and are a part of a large covered mall (incorporating several lanes and streets)at the present. He expanded into adjacent shops as the need arose. At some point, he began manufacturing brass instruments.
