| A custom factory-made (by Allen Mfg. Co., Allen & Hall, or Hall & Quinby) Bb rotary valve bell front with an Eb valve bugle bell.
This horn was restored by Robb Stewert. When the finger hook was removed the shadow of the stamped oval Allen Mfg. Company escutcheon plate appeared.
The instrument features a large Eb bell with special Bb tubing which is slightly larger standard Boston Bb cornet tubing.
It is likely that the bell on this instrument was from old stock.
The tuning shank is 1870s style made of nickel-silver rather than plated brass.
