5055 Wagner Tuba Schediwy
Interesting discussions going on in this auction: this item is neither a Baritone Horn, nor a Euphonium nor a Tuba. It should be called a Wagner Tuben, and appears to have a tenor (Baritone) shank. Schediwy allowed the company in Ludwigsburg to use his name, though he had long departed Germany. its construct is similar to Cerveny and Mirafone Tuben style models manufactured today. Althoguh the instrument is commonly sold, it is not commonly used except for Wagner orchestral work. If this is played right handed it is a Bariton Horn and not a Wagner Tuba which are left-handed! Hello, This appears to be played with the Right hand and seems to have a mouthpiece receiver for a larger shank mouthpiece than the french horn mouthpiece. Is it possibly a European style rotary baritone or tenor horn?
