| Shield engraved: M.Slater Malier NY,
keys stamped: patented june 17 1873
19in long
gsmonks: I think this is a low C bass trumpet. I have one of the long-model Bb horns which is wrapped quite differently.
Kenton: I got some revised numbers from the seller. bell diameter 6 5/16in, length 13.5, and tube length 60.5.
pryorphone: I am not sure I believe the tube length, but I am guessing 60.5" should be somewhere near G/A alto. The bell measurement sounds early trombone size, my uneducated guess would be high pitch tenor Bb or C.
gsmonks: I have a Bb bass trumpet, and this horns valve tubing is slightly shorter, which is why I am pretty sure its a C horn.

gsmonks: Check out the mouthpiece. The historical practice was to use either a shallow tenor mouthpiece or a smaller alto trombone mouthpiece.
