A batch of 6 valves #14263-8) were given out 1 Jun 1872, received 19 Jul 1872, and made up on 31 Jul 1872. (# 14268). The instrument was made by Bauer. Eb Bombardon, Class A39. It was given out 31 Jul 1872, given to the polisher on 15 Aug 1872, received 19 Aug 1872, and entered in stock 24 Aug 1872. It was sold to dealer in New York. Bauers time charged =138 hours. Only known McFadden Rotary. This instrument was made after Beaumont left the partnership but before McFadden moved to Syracuse.
994 Cornet McFadden-Beaumont 1872
only known instrument to survive from this maker Frederick Beaumont had worked for Isaac Fiske, and in partnership with George McFadden produced unlicensed copies of Fiskes patented designs. The ensuing squabble with Fiske forced McFadden & Beaumont out of business within two years. George McFadden relocated to Syracuse, NY, where his firm produced piston-valve cornets until 1910.
