Pryorphone: Holton Collegiate "hatbox" French Horn right handed, piston valve. Although it has many characteristics of a mellophone, it is indeed in French Horn octave F and has no water keys. Among the more interesting traits it has, the valves are offset to match ones finger spread. The bottom sprung valves also have a self-centering protrusion in the bottom valve cap for the springs, with three very small outer air holes.
The mouthpipe, bell, and second valve slide all remove when the horn is returned to its case. When assembled, the horn plays just like any single F Horn, only using the wrong hand!
