| TrumpetNick:
I am not an expert on vintage horns but this looks much more like a trumpet...can you explain?
Kenton: According to the 1957 catalog, "Styling is almost identical to the Trumpet model and yet this is large bore Cornet with careful engineering to preserve the conical principle of the Cornet and make it a golden voice for the fine solist."

| Seller says this a professional, not student, level horn
brassyjazz: Courtois made trumpets for Noblet in the 50s and the one shown which I just auctioned on Ebay was a medium 450 bore. The bells used are not the same design as the standard Courtois trumpets of that period which had the additional tonal ring around the bell like the Selmers. Also, the fittings are not as high-end as the standard Courtois. However, they are still a professional horn and play very well.
Noblet was a separate company into woodwinds and contracted with Courtois in the 50s to produce quality trumpets.
Courtois must have had some unused bells and it was more cost effective to use them in their contract with Noblet then manufacture a new run of the standard bell. In any event, you have a great Noblet as it is almost always a Courtois. Most of the bores on the Noblets were 450 where on the Courtois you could get a 450 designated M or a 456 designated ML. I have had both and I personally like the 450s better.
