CJ Fuller and Joel Ryde owners are mentioned in publications dated 1923-8.
The Peerless mellophone shown from the Fuller-Ryde Music Co. would date to the 1918-1930 period when they were in operation in Indianapolis at #27 East Ohio St. The name was Fuller-Wagner Music Co. from 1915-1917 and just Wagner Music Co. in 1914.

| Pryorphone: They did not stamp them on the valve casings. Look under the valve caps to find the serial number (if there is one).
In addition, one can narrow down the time period from the dates of the awards that are also on the bell. You might list ALL the bell engraving, and then we could help.
KimC: Wow! There IS a serial number there! It is not very clear, but it says 13432.
Thanks for that tip!
So, here ist he complete text on that cornet:

Thats all, quite a lesson!
That is why I ondered why there was no serial number, but now I have found it. Honestly I did not ecspect to find a serial number on a part that can easily be removed, or svapped to another instrument.
Pryorphone: Looking at the bell award engravings that Ive been able to collect, that puts your cornet between 1878 - 1889

LEW:
I bought the horn shown in the eBay photos you have linked. I used it at Tuba Christmas this past December. It plays very well, easy blowing with a nice full sound, as you might expect from a euphonium with a 14" bell. I brought it to the US Army band tuba euphonium conference in January and Lee Stofer played it and sounded great. I have since spoken to a couple of other people who said that they have seen others and one who owns another one. I suspect that they were made as marching band baritones, but I still believe that a relatively small number were made and certainly a smaller number are still around in playing condition.
