Hello everyone, I just acquired a cool old trombone with Franz Weber, Maker, Vienna, B J NY Sole Importers Inscribed on the bell. It is in silver, with a nice and uniform patina, and gold wash bell. It has a device that appears to be a stop for adjusting the tuning slide (sorry, I am still working on getting the proper nomenclature). I do see that he is listed under the Makers, but no real info beyond that. Is there anywhere I can find additional information about this craftsman? Many thanks, John

I've had the long on-and-off trying to get more info on KHS due to their slavish cloning of Conn 1960s designs, before they branched out to other designs.  While this channel seems to cover Japanese makes primarily, from what I can tell, it's quite a lot to take in [I can't tell what any of it says without translation help] and he's not even sure about Nikkan serials, for instance...https://www.youtube.com/@olds3/videos

I guess it's reassuring he's had similar issues finding info on some of the smaller firms, due to the usual lack of surviving documentation and such...?
